Workplace rights FAQs

This is a slightly broad topic, as it could easily contain almost all employment law issues. However, we have restricted it those general rights which all employees should enjoy at work, such as:

  • Annual leave
  • Maternity leave/pay
  • Sick leave
  • Minimum wage

They are not situations that arise such as discrimination or redundancy, these are FAQs regarding basic rights which should be enjoyed from day one in your place of employment. For more specific situations like the above, go to our ending employment or discrimination pages.

If you feel you are not being given these basic rights, your employer will be in the wrong and in most cases the issue will be able to be backdated. For more advice give us a call on 0800 1777 162 or fill in the web-form and we'll call you back. Often a simple letter from a solicitor will be enough to fix the situation and give you peace of mind.
