Wills - what should you know?

It is very important to plan ahead and make arrangements for what you want to happen to your assets when you die, and to make proper provision for your loved ones.

Everyone of adult age should have a valid will. There are formalities that must be observed when making a will in order for it to be valid. You also need to consider things like who the executor will be and how you will take taxes such as inheritance tax into account.

In this section we set out some useful information for you to know about when making a will. We also explain why it is a good idea to have a solicitor help you to make your will, and we discuss using a will-writer rather than a solicitor.
