Information on the Small Claims Court

 

If you need to claim money from someone you may have heard about the Small Claims Court. The Small Claims Court refers to a special procedure for handling smaller claims in a County Court. It is available to private individuals and businesses that are owed money and have not been able to obtain the money by other means.

There are rules about what you can use the Small Claims Court to make claims for, based primarily on the value and complexity of the claim. We have set out some basic information to help you with making a claim in the Small Claims Court.
