Divorce under Sharia law

Islamic divorce is one area of Sharia law which potentially conflicts with UK law. Usually this conflict remains because an aspect of the Sharia law doesn’t sit comfortably alongside UK law, such as non-equal rights between sexes, or other types of discrimination.

Islamic divorce is handled in a different method to a British divorce, and if you are a Muslim and you wish to get divorced but are unsure as to its legality in the UK then take a look at the pages here. For further advice it is recommended that you talk to a specialised solicitor.
