Medical negligence claims

If you have ended up injured or ill because of the negligent practise of a medical professional such as a doctor, surgeon or specialist, you may have a medical negligence claim. You can claim for medical negligence if the medical professional owed you a duty of care and failed to carry out their duty with the skill reasonably expected of them.

Making a claim can be very complex, as it is difficult to establish whether the medical professional failed in their duty or whether the injury was a consequence of a risk that you consented to. You will generally need to have both medical and expert evidence supporting your claim.
