Employment disputes

Employment disputes are not uncommon. Unfortunately, they can be a difficult type of dispute because they involve the deterioration of a relationship that may or may not be ongoing. Often, it is preferable to resolve a dispute amicably, such as through using internal grievance procedures and mediation, in order to preserve the relationship.

In this section we look at common employment disputes from both the employees’ and employers’ point of view, including:

  • Workplace injury claims and workers compensation
  • Health and safety
  • Unfair dismissal and redundancy
  • Harassment and bullying
  • Discrimination
  • Wages and benefits
  • Breach of the employment contract
  • Arbitration

This section focuses mostly on resolving employment disputes. For more general information on employment law please look in the Employment law section.
