Business Development Manager position

Contact Law is the leading online business development service for law firms and we are looking for an experienced and proactive BDM to join our team. We are a 25-person company, full of individuals who work hard and like to be fun and social as well.

The role will involve generating business from new customers across the UK and Ireland, and building your portfolio of accounts to manage and grow. Having happy customers is important to us, so we look for people who take pride in maintaining good customer relationships from the point of first contact onwards.

Our team of Business Development Managers is both supportive and competitive, so you will have plenty of responsibility and minimal bureaucracy or formality.

We are based in Earlsfield, which is on train links close to Clapham Junction and several bus routes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Generating and closing new business in the UK and Ireland over the phone, as well as via law firm meetings when needed
  • Achieving both new sales and retention targets
  • Prospecting and developing new business opportunities through a high volume of strategic prospecting and account development
  • Analysing customer needs and understanding their business objectives. Recommending appropriate Contact Law solutions based on customer needs
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts, and ensuring they're getting the most out of our service
  • Providing a consultative sales experience, emphasising Contact Law’s unique value
  • Developing and growing a rigorous pipeline with accurate forecasting
  • Reporting regularly on sales activity, revenue forecasts and closing timetables
  • Identifying opportunities to improve sales effectiveness

Requirements for the role:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong track record of B2B sales and account management, backed with a great commercial understanding and focus on excellent customer satisfaction.

  • Successful and proven track record of selling to professionals in a target-driven, sales environment: at least two years of B2B and new business sales
  • Ability to generate leads independently
  • Highly polished verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
  • Self-motivation with strong organisation and time management skills
  • Fully competent in Customer Relationship Management systems (we use and pipeline forecasting
  • Experience with web advertising or internet marketing preferred
  • Knowledge of legal industry advantageous but not essential
  • Able to develop good working relationships with all levels of people across all teams
  • Ability to work under pressure and a desire to succeed
  • A quick learner, and somebody who can take initiative
